YTTC YOGA MEDITATION DIPLOMA COURSE
Nowadays, many people who come to yoga classes are interested in trying meditation. It may be that they are interested in enhancing their powers of concentration, or calming the mind or relieving stress, or even interested in some type of self-enquiry, self-discovery or spiritual development. The aims and benefits of meditation are many.
However, teaching meditation in a yoga class setting can be difficult. For example, we may wonder what type of meditation method to use? Is it suitable for everyone in the class? What if some people in the class are not interested in meditation, or even averse to the idea? How do I introduce meditation, or develop it over a series of classes, as I would develop a series of asanas?
In the coming year, YTTC will deliver a Yoga Meditation Diploma Course. The course will consist of ten days and will equip the yoga teacher to teach a variety of different meditation methods for a wide variety of needs or purposes. These will include:
- Traditional yoga meditations
- Meditation for the lay practitioner
- Meditation for stress management
- Meditation for self-enquiry
- The path of concentration
- The path of awareness
- Mindfulness meditation
- Meditation and sound
- Meditation and the breath
- Poised living
- Active meditation
- Meditation as therapy
- Meditation to develop the heart centre
- Mediation as therapy
