Benefits of Membership of YTTC
Normally in the summer issue we put in a reminder about renewing your membership this September. The membership and insurance scheme run in the same cycle August to September. Both Insurers collect your YTTC membership fee at the same time as you pay for your yoga insurance. This is because you must be a member of the YTTC to benefit from our insurance scheme plus it is more efficient. By being a member of the YTTC you save £/€100 approximately than if you where to get your insurance as an individual.
Added to this you receive our newsletter three times a year, Summer, Christmas and Spring. Over the last few years we have progressively put more and more energy into producing the newsletters. Keeping you updated with all the latest yoga news. The YTTC team highly value you our members and are committed to offering you opportunities to spread the word of yoga through our training programs. We are challenged by this commitment because we have to continually develop and learn ourselves so that we can pass on the learning.
As you can see over last few years we have developed a continual personal development program that keeps your training fresh and progressive. We offer a level of training that supports teachers in their yoga journey and helps build a long term career as a yoga teacher, having a sense of journey is key to this. Know your story, know yourself!
We all want to be involved in a life that has meaning, yoga supports people in understanding what life means to them, and we, as yoga teachers are the guides on this journey.
I am definitely digressing from the benefits of being a member but somehow what I am saying fit in. Being a member of the YTTC for the insurance scheme alone is value enough but we offer much more than that! Being a member is an expression of our commitment to yoga.
Another benefit of being a member is we are now a member of the British Council of Yoga Therapist (B.C.Y.T.) and the Complementary & Natural Health Council (C.N.H.C.). This is more relevant to our Yoga Therapist members in Northern Ireland and mainland UK but it is an example of how we are keeping up to date with national governing bodies. This brings Yoga into the mainstream medical practices as being a member of the CNHC encourages doctors to recommend yoga therapy to their patients.
Unfortunately this has not happened in Southern Ireland yet. How we organized in British Council of yoga therapist was by inviting all the training organizations to join and agreed a standard that included all organizations and then the standard was increased by consensus. This allowed for an inclusive starting point that reminds me of the ethos of YTTC, Irelands largest training organization.
YOGA IS FOR ALL!
