Pranayama Course with Phillip Xerri The course offers an in - depth, logical, tightly structured, developmental, practical and theoretical appreciation of Pranayama from it`s beginings ( founded in the Mahat Yoga Pranayama ) to it`s classical expression as found in the Hatha Yoga Pradipika.The course includes a comprehensive manual which will be invaluable as a reference tool for students who wish to incorporate pranayama practice into both their personal practice and teaching.

Yoga for Sports Course Yoga is now being used by a large number of sports people / groups as an aid to maximizing sports related performance. It is being used as a tool to complement sporting activity in terms of reducing the incidence of sports related injuries and helping to keep the athlete injury free. The value of Yoga in condititioning the body holistically is now widell recognized and appreciated by many sporting codes.In this short 4 day course you will examine in detail many common sports injuries - how to re-habilitate them and how, from a yoga asana perspective, how to prevent them through adequate and proper stretching. Lesson planning for sports people will also form a core part of the course so that students will have a thorough understanding of the theory of planning yoga classes for sports people. The importance of diet and proper nutrition will also form part of the training. Topics covered will include Joint Health, Sports Injury & Recovery, Good Hydration as well as other topics.

| Sat. 12th May | `Cleansing the doors of perception` - Meditation & the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali Workshop with Michael Mc Cann
The Yoga Sutras are intended to cleanse so that we can `see things as they are` and `know who we are`. This is Raja Yoga. The mastery of asana is a vital preparation but the Sutras invite us to continue with the journey of self - discovery. We just need to learn how to read the map and to let go of the things that prevent us from accessing our inner wisdom: the treasure we often seek outside but lies within. The workshop will look at some key concepts of the Yoga Sutras and how they add meaning and direction to our meditation practice and indeed our human predicament. There will be some classical Yoga meditations and learn how to develop a simple but effective daily practice of authenticity and true `be - ing`. Yoga Workshop with Paddy Hamill In this full day workshop Paddy will look at a range of poses to stretch, release and work the entire body. The day will be highly structured and include adequate preparation, building on solid foundations to ensure student safety and comfort during practice. Pranayama practice will be integrated into the day with specific attention paid to the Savittri Pranayama series. The day is open to any student of yoga who would like to challenge and progress their practice in a controlled, measured and supportive way.

1/2 Day Child Protection Workshop with Blanche Thompson Safeguarding children - This is a 3hour child protection workshop that is aimed at yoga teachers who either work with or come across children in settings where they teach. The workshop content is part of the `Keeping Safe Initiative` and each participant will receive a certificate. The course will explore:

Kundalini Yoga Summer Solstice celebration workshop with Micheal Colhoun Summer Solstice marks the time of stillness between the season of growth and harvest. It is a time to celebrate our expansion, acknowledge our weaknesses, an opportunity to pause for a moment and look back at what we have achieved, to redress our imbalances and to plan for our future and for the the people in our circle of friends and family. ( our Sangat ) The workshop will teach and explore the fundamentals of Kundalini Yoga including kriyas, pranayama, mantra and meditation. You will learn about fundamental tools in addressing imbalances within the body both mentally and emotionally. It will be open to complete beginners or the seasoned Yogi as it will be a day of learning and sharing for everyone!

Applied Yoga Therapy Workshop with Majella Mc Intyre Following on from Majella`s recent workshop she would like to offer another similar workshop which will look at various key aspects of yoga asana from a therapy perspective. A wide range of poses will be covered and students can look forward to an interesting, informative and experiential day of yoga.

Yoga & Relaxation Workshop with Susan Johnson Susan makes a very welcome to the Studio for this 1 day workshop in which she will explore 5 postures and their link into the elements. Each posture will be connected to the relevant chakra / colour and bija mantra while using the 3 part breath. After each posture you will sit and use a new meditation based on the elements / colour to cement the practice. A short sequence called Movement with the Elements will be practiced with a handout. All of these meditations will be made up new especially for the day. In the afternoon the mudras will be connected to the elements drawing on the book `Yoga in your Hands` and will include work on Sankalpas and positive affirmations. A relaxing Yoga Nidra and visualisation will complete the day.
